Controller Remap is designed to work primarily on your device.
The app may process the following information locally on your Mac:
- Controller information, such as connected controller name, model, manufacturer, player number, battery status, and connection state
- Mapping profiles and preferences you create in the app
- App bundle identifiers you assign to profiles for automatic profile switching
- Imported or exported profile files that you choose to open or save
- Purchase status related to unlocking the full version through Apple’s App Store
Controller Remap does not require you to create an account.
3. How We Use Information
We use information only to provide the app’s features, including:
- Detecting connected controllers
- Saving and loading your mapping profiles and preferences
- Letting you import and export profiles
- Auto-applying profiles when selected apps are active
- Checking whether the full version has been unlocked through Apple’s in-app purchase system
- Enabling controller-to-keyboard or controller-to-mouse mapping on your device
4. Accessibility and Device Permissions
Controller Remap may request Accessibility permission on macOS so it can simulate keyboard and mouse input based on your controller mappings.
This permission is used only to provide the app’s core functionality on your device. We do not use this permission to collect personal content.
5. Data Storage
Your profiles, preferences, and related app settings are stored locally on your device.
We do not operate a cloud backend for Controller Remap, and we do not intentionally transmit your profile data to our own servers.
6. Purchases
If you choose to unlock the full version, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
We do not receive your full payment information. We may only receive the purchase status information made available through Apple’s in-app purchase system to determine whether premium features are unlocked.

7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Information may be handled by Apple where necessary for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, or system-level functionality provided by macOS.

Controller Remap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your Choices
You may choose to:
- Not grant Accessibility permission, although some features may not function properly without it
- Delete the app and its local data from your device
- Contact us if you have questions about privacy
